TRIO-Based Panels

These large TRIO-based panels are designed for genetically heterogeneous disorders where a relatively “common” phenotype could be caused by a large number of genes. Given the large number of genes included in these panels, a TRIO-based method is utilized to aid with clinical interpretation.

TRIO Panels

Customizable TRIO-Based Panels are not available at this time.

Why PerkinElmer Genomics

PerkinElmer Genomics’ AnyPanelTM comes with the following features:

  • Enhanced coverage of over 5300 known disease genes with over 3000 genes having 100% coverage at 20x or greater.
  • Reliable detection of copy number variants (CNVs) >3 exons in size. Single exon CNVs can also be predicted, but follow-up confirmation is strongly recommended for any events reported less than 3 exons.

Benefits

  • Testing Flexibility: Choose from a pre-curated panel, customize a panel, or create your own panel to best meet the need of your patients.
  • Rapid TATs: All results returned in 3 weeks or less. A STAT testing option is also available which accelerates TAT to 7-10 days.
  • Cost Certainty: Single price for all panels regardless of the number of genes ordered
  • Multiple Sample Types: Acceptance of multiple sample types including Saliva Swabs, Dried Blood Spots, Whole Blood, and Genomic DNA.
  • Reflex Option Available: Easily reflex to Whole Exome sequencing if your initial panel does not find a cause of disease.

Given the large number of genes included in these panels, a TRIO-based method is utilized to aid with clinical interpretation.

Can TRIO-Based Panels be customized?

No, TRIO-Based Panels can not be customized at this time.

What sample types do you accept?

PerkinElmer Genomics accepts multiple sample types including Saliva Swabs, Dried Blood Spots, Whole Blood, and Genomic DNA.

Do you confirm all of your findings?

All reported variants are confirmed using an orthogonal method.

What is your variant classification process?

PerkinElmer Genomics follows the published ACMG guidelines when classifying identified variants.

Do you have a downloadable list of pre-curated panels?

Yes, a full list of pre-curated panels can be found here.

Will the cost vary depending on the number of genes I order?

No, all AnyPanel™ tests are the same cost regardless of the number of genes ordered. However, TRIO-based panel tests do have an increased cost since three sample data sets are required to generate the results.
